The trip over.

Below are the e-mails Kirsten sent us while working her way over there. She's in Qatar right now and thinks she will ship "down range" tomorrow. I also have some pictures before she left, an emotional good buy with her babies, Atticus, Simon and Finch, and great pic of her at the airport. I think my mom has some good family pictures on her camera as mine crapped out.

On a side note, please do NOT feel sorry for those dogs. They are with Omi and Opa, who will spoil them rotten. I think they have all already gained 7lbs (49 lbs in dog weight).

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know I made it to germany after a rough/long flight from Baltimore. I think every screaming and crying kid was sitting in my section. Anyhow, we have a two hour lay over here and then we're off to Aviano. There is a TON of snow here on the ground and I wish I could just go AWOL and spend a week in Germany. Anyhow, love you all a ton, and I'll send you an e-mail when I can.
I miss you already.
Kirsten

Same day, a little later

I'm in Italy. No snow here. Also only have two hours on the ground, but the terminal is much smaller and we're limited to one small room. The flight from Germany to Italy was less full and I only had two screaming kids. Good news is that there is no Space A to Qatar. YAY!! The mountains here are beautiful. Too bad I can't stay for a week here either. Love you all lots and I'll e-mail you from the deid when I can. Hugs to the boys.

I'm in Qatar waiting for words on how I get down range. It took 27 hours from the time I took off out of ATL to the time I landed here. And it was 34 hours from the time I took off from ATL until I layed down in a bed. It's been a long trip. Not much has changed here. They did get a new DFAC (chow hall) and the food is decent, but I won't dare say good. I'll let you know more when I can about how the trip is going. Three people from my Air Advisor course are here with me, but they will probably all get a ride out of here before I do. I miss and love you all and can't wait to talk to you. I'll try to call when I can.
Love you
Kirsten

  1. great blog, I will follow along faithfully! And I can vouch that the dogs are H-A-P-P-Y as they have become my children's FAVORITE reason to eat meals in our breakfast nook. They spend the whole meal sitting backwards on their chairs watching the dogs running and jumping around the woods. We love our DOG-TV! Stay safe Kirsten!
